All right. Welcome. | 00:00:01
Boy, I didn't realize that the medical contract agreement with provision of inmate health services would draw this much interest | 00:00:04
tonight. So if you're here for the BA meeting, you're, you're in the right place. We, we're having a special meeting that's going | 00:00:09
to last probably, we hope, 5 minutes or so. | 00:00:14
If you're so, this is a special meeting of the Floyd County Commissioners to address that contract for the Sheriff's Office. If | 00:00:20
you'll please rise, join me in the Pledge of Allegiance. | 00:00:24
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, | 00:00:31
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. | 00:00:37
All right. We only have one item on the agenda and this was presented and then tabled at the last meeting. So gentlemen, thank you | 00:00:44
very much. Appreciate you taking the time out your busy schedules today and and all the folks here to come and listen to us. So we | 00:00:50
appreciate that as well. But before you as a medical contract that was before you last Tuesday and was tabled then. | 00:00:57
We have some circumstances that arose from Tuesdays. On Wednesday, we received a termination letter for our current medical | 00:01:04
provider and that current contract. So at that time, I called each one of you and Mr. Fox in reference to having a special | 00:01:10
meeting. I believe I answered all the questions, but I'll take any questions here this evening. In terms of this new contract, | 00:01:15
what I'm asking for is approval to go ahead and sign this contract under the new statute that took place July 1st and become | 00:01:21
before the Commission on all of our contracts. | 00:01:27
And Steve, you indicated that this contract was less expensive than the one that you had previous, Is that correct? That is | 00:01:35
correct. | 00:01:39 | |
Before was in reference to less expensive, but also wasn't very budgeted. And yes, you know, we iterated in our budget on the | 00:01:43
current contract received X amount of 707,000. This one is under 700,000. I think there's about a 70,000 if I remember correctly, | 00:01:49
$70,000 savings. | 00:01:54
So yes, is this for, is this for one year or the three-year or is it? | 00:02:02
OK. And do we know, I mean are they going to raise the rates next year you know make up for? | 00:02:08
3% raise each year automatically I think, but. | 00:02:17
The current contract would have raised over 15%, which? | 00:02:22
OK. So still would have been, it'd still be cheaper to go at this company even with a 3% raise as opposed to the new rate that | 00:02:26
they gave you for the other contract? | 00:02:30
And just for the record, the contract is for $699,188.34 plus there's 24,000 that's put into an aggregate gap, a cap account and | 00:02:41
that's for incidental's like medical supplies, mobile services, off site services. | 00:02:51
And so that's an account that they draw on with respect to that. | 00:03:02
Yeah, that's good. | 00:03:06
That's my concern. | 00:03:07
I'll make a motion to approve if there's no further discussion. All right, I have a motion to 2nd. | 00:03:14
And then for the record that it was tabled only because of we just had not had time to review it so. | 00:03:19
Thank you for putting up with us on doing our due diligence. | 00:03:26
All right, so all in favor, aye? | 00:03:31
All right, And there's no other business on the agenda, so I'll. | 00:03:35 |
