	I know this board was a huge help for us last year.	00:02:44
	Our goal last year was to have a free fair and our goal again this year is to have a free fair, free carnival rides as well.	00:02:48
	With last year's success of our fair, we've had a lot of people reach out to us.	00:02:57
	Our previous carnival who had for years reached back out to us and heard about the success we had and he wants to be a part of it.	00:03:02
	And so, Brady amusements.	00:03:10
	We've signed a contract with them to come back to us.	00:03:12
	So our carnival last year was 20,000.	00:03:17
	Guy was OK at best, but Bradys is 10 times as good as the one last year. He's clean, he brings a good crew with him and he runs a	00:03:20
	top shelf rides, so he's agreed to come to us for 25,000.	00:03:28
	That we've worked hard on old.	00:03:37
	Last year I said I was going to try to get.	00:03:41
	Some community support to help take care of the carnival.	00:03:44
	Actually had one person in general that we had in mind that was going to take care of the whole thing.	00:03:49
	And as time has progressed and it's gotten.	00:03:56
	Closer and closer I could see that that probably wasn't going to be a reality, so we went ahead and worked and.	00:03:59
	We've raised 15,000 towards the carnival.	00:04:06

	Which is why we're 10,000 short right now to come up with the money.	00:04:18

	We've seen it from last year's fair to this year's fair. Our 4H membership is, I don't know what it's saying, if it's double or	00:04:31
	not, but you know, last year we had like 4 cows in the fair. This year we've got 10.	00:04:39

	19 swan this year we got 30 something we actually had to spend.	00:04:48
	Almost $4000 on new pins to put up inside the barn and we got somebody to to sponsor that as well to help us out with that. So a	00:04:54
	lot of positive things are moving forward and this is all just still from COVID trying to come back from it.	00:05:02
	So people are starting to come back to fair. They're starting to see it. They're starting to want to be part of it. A lot of.	00:05:11

	These gentle ladies behind me that I brought are actually part of what we call our Junior Leaders Program.	00:05:19
	They learn how board functions, how it operates, what each member does. They have a president, vice president, treasurer,	00:05:25
	secretary, and they they are learning.	00:05:30
	How to conduct a board meeting as well, So I brought them here so they could see how board actually should offer a.	00:05:36
	Because ours is not perfect by any stretch, but.	00:05:44

	We don't have a way to come.	00:07:06
	Find an area to charge people as they enter property like Harrison County and Clark County do. They can seal off their perimeter.	00:07:07
	And park and then everybody that comes in and funnels in.	00:07:15
	But I believe Harrison County has actually made a change to that. Now where they're not going to charge this year, they're only	00:07:18
	going to charge for the events that.	00:07:22
	People that are see they're not gonna charge people for entering the fair this year. So this red company doesn't have like a booth	00:07:26
	to charge only for the rides they do.	00:07:31

	It's always just been a goal of mine that we could get people from the community back to the fairgrounds, you know?	00:08:07
	Back and see what's going on. You know, we don't have FFA in our school system anymore. We're the last stand for, you know?	00:08:12

	I'll just make a comment. I know I talked with Chris about this in detail, asked a lot of questions and we did discuss the funding	00:08:31
	issue. And I know it's a problem We we're definitely facing some deficits and some various issues moving forward. But you know, I	00:08:36

	Last year and and really saw what the benefits were to offer just to the community especially those can't always afford to do	00:08:47
	things like that and I see a benefit there so.	00:08:52

	Acknowledge we need to get this thing funded. I've talked to Chris about that. So I'm I'm personally willing to do it one more	00:09:01
	year and then I don't see how we're going to be able to move forward but I'm I'm willing to support one more year. Here's here's	00:09:05

	resources. My wife spends a ton of time. You know we have voting going on, how long we have voting going on fairgrounds.	00:09:30
	My wife goes every weekend and cleans the restrooms and everything down.	00:09:38
	We don't get paid to do it. We do it because we care about the children.	00:09:42
	We want to see the growth of the children. They're our next leaders right here.	00:09:46
	They're the next people leave. So if this program is available for to do it, But I need your guys's support, because if you don't	00:09:50
	want to support the program, that's fine, that's your thing. But I don't have to volunteer anymore either, right? So I want to see	00:09:56

	A vendor. We paid for some vendors to come last year and we're not doing that this year. We had some vendors that came to us and	00:11:08
	she wanted to raise her price to $6000 to come back to the fair and I said no. You made enough money last year selling.	00:11:15
	People to go to your little mini farm. You made plenty money last year. If you want to come, you come for free. We're not going to	00:11:21
	charge you a booth rental, but you come for free. But I'm not paying you to come. And she's coming.	00:11:27
	So there is a lot of positive things happen in there.	00:11:34

	banner is going to be right there where everybody stops to get information about the fair. And then we actually created a booth	00:13:17
	that you're going to have to come to to get an armband, even ride any ride so that that person that advertise gets maximum	00:13:23

	OK. Just a couple things, Riff I May 1st, the opioid grant, I did speak to Emily True Love just recently because our grant, our	00:24:50
	opiate grant expires June of 2025. So obviously we're getting prepared for the budget process. So I'm wanting to know if we can go	00:24:56
	ahead and start writing the grant to retrieve some potential data or some potential dollars for 2025 to continue the programming	00:25:02

	She sent me a list, obviously, of all the available grants and there are significant number of grants that are out there.	00:25:16

	Now if you ever want to come and watch me get in and out of a 14 year old vehicle with all my gear on and tell me it's not a	00:29:44

	I could get shot 15 times before I can get out of this vehicle. We need vehicles that are going to stand up and hold up. The	00:29:57
	vehicle. I'm driving right now, the transmission is going out of it. We have two other vehicles that are sitting there that won't	00:30:02

	But for our safety and if you look at how much money we are saving the county by making these calls where the Sheriff's Department	00:30:16

	You know, you're looking at hundreds of thousands of dollars, so I don't think that we're asking for a whole lot for the safety of	00:30:26
